Asahi Super-Takumar 50mm f1.4 (8 element)

Description

This is a late model of the 8-element Asahi Super-Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens, with good optics and mechanical function, okay cosmetics. The glass has some internal dust, no haze or fungus; the focusing is smooth, with only a hint of irregularity at about the 0.6m mark (you’re unlikely to notice it if you’re not looking for it). The body has some paint wear and a few cosmetic scrapes, with the most notable being on the front retaining ring, which someone has attempted to remove with the wrong tools at some point. If you’re in it for that eighth element, this one’s for you.
