Description
The Sawyers Personal Stereo Camera is a 35mm camera designed to shoot images for View-Master discs. You probably remember View-Master discs: round, about 3.5 inches across, with little tiny pictures all around the edge. You’d tossthem in a viewer and pull the lever, and you could choose from six 3D images. Most of these were licensed products (think Mickey Mouse) or tourist mementos, but Sawyer’salso made cameras and accessories to shoot your own 3D pictures, and that’s what this is. Theoutfit includes a Sawyer’s View-Master Personal Stereo Camera, an FC-1 film cutter, and enough reels to fit 60 images. The camera is in good cosmetic condition, with some paint and finish wear; function is excellent. The cutter has a some cosmetic wear, but it’ll definitely still cut film. Reels are old stock and unused. Also included is a leather case for the camera with a really nice leather patina. Is it practical to shoot View-Master reels? No. It’s a pain to cut out and align the images in the reels, and you need a View-Master viewer to see them, so they’re not easy to share around. But also: it’s awesome, andyou should do it. Viewer is sold separately.
