Anrare “normal” lens, this Nippon Kogaku 5.8cm f1.4 lens is designed for pre-AI Nikon F mount cameras- so it’ll mount to those, plus AI-era cameras with a flip-back AI tab, some AF cameras without mechanical AI coupling tabs, and almost any F mount lens adapter. Check your manual if you’re not sure! Anyway, theyonly made 39,000 of these lenses from 1959 to 1962, and this is one of them. It’sin excellent condition, with minor cosmetic wear, very light rear element group hazing which is unlikely to affect imaging. For the record: the distance scale is in feet and metres, and the barrel is marked “Pat. Pending,” but not “Made In Japan”. It’s a type 4 according to Roland Vink, probably made for the Japanese market.
