Description
This is a beautiful vintage wood and brass tripod suited to medium and large format cameras. No real reason you couldn’t put a smaller camera on there either- the fitting is the standard 1/4″ found on pretty much every camera- but the top platform is fairly large and may get in the way ofthicker lenses if you mount a camera directly to it. You can always toss a tripod head on there, of course. This thing’s easily got 100 years on the clock, so there’s a bit of wear on the wood, and some tarnishing of the brass, but it’s in remarkably good condition all things considered. Worth noting for those used to modern tripods: the legs do not have a spreader, and rely on leg friction to hold in place, which makes use on slippery surfaces a bit dodgy. Anyway, a really lovely tripod made out of what is almost certainly exotic old-growth hardwood that no longer exists, so it may as well be out there getting some use. Stows to about 50-ish-cm long in its included bag; maximum height is about 160cm.
