Description
The Gitzo GT2932 Basalt is a strong, lightweight tripod made from basalt. Basalt is a rock, and rocks are not generally known to be particularly lightweight, but there’s more to it: according to Gitzo, the basalt is ground into sand, melted, made into fibres, and woven into a composite leg, kind of like carbon fibre. Actually, it’s more like fibreglass. Actually, that sounds exactly like fibreglass. It might just be fibreglass. But whatever it is, it’s strong and light, and it lets this tripod safely support up to 10kg. Total height (without the centre column) is approximately 130cm. Cosmetic condition is very good, with light surface wear.
