Description
The Minolta XD5 was the cheaper version of the XD series cameras. Some people say that it has several plastic parts which just look like metal parts. It has the same outer appearance as the XD7, except the missing viewfinder ocular shuttering lever. Both models offer the choice of two automatic exposure modes: shutterspeed preferred or aperture preferred. In shutter preferred mode an aperture scale is shown in the viewfinder instead of the meter’s shutterspeed scale. But the XD5 shows does not show the actual selected speed and selected aperture in addition to that scale, as does the XD7. For new preselections of shutter speed or aperture the XD7 user can keep his eye on the viewfinder.
